Any patient who is less than or equal to five months of age on 1/1 of the measurement period will turn six months old in the measurement period, as the header descriptions states. The depression screening must happen in the first six months of life which may be before the measurement period.

    • This impacts our configuration of the measure. Need to know if we need to look at visits <= 5 months prior to the Measurement Period.

CMS 82 IPP Question: Mismatch between IPP Description and eSpec. The top part states Children with a visit who turned 6 months of age in the MP. The bottom portion states <= 5 months starts before the start of MP. Please see the attachment for a screen capture. We do not know if we need to look back 5 months prior to the MP since the bottom portion of the eSpec states that the depression care or screening can occur between 0 and 6 months, this means the encounter could occur before the MP. But if we go by the top portion of the eSpec which states "children with a visit who turned 6 months of age in the MP", not <= 5 months before start of MP, means we should only count visits in the MP.

      Please clarify the intent.
