Thank you for your question. The medication value sets developed for the program contain RxNorm codes that are Semantic Clinical Drugs (SCD), generic, and prescribable. We explicitly exclude brand name drugs from the value sets. In order to satisfy the measure, you would need to map your local brand name drugs to the appropriate generic code. If you believe you are using RxNorm codes that are of the SCD term type, but those codes are missing from our value set, then please submit those codes so we can review them.

The value set for Thrombolytic Therapy (2.16.840.1.113883.3.117.1.7.1.226) contains only one RxNorm code for one dosage of Alteplase. Our facility uses many different doses and we have patients failing the e-measure because of the lack of a full value set of alteplase RxNorm codes. What is the expectation, should all tPA be submitted with that single RxNorm code? Otherwise, we have patients that are legitimate denominator exclusions that are evaluating as measure fails. Thanks
