We are requesting that Quality Measure 374, Closing the Referral Loop: Receipt of Specialist Report be reportable through a Registry and not EHR only. Many eligible clinicians still do not have access to or control over decisions regarding EHRs, particularly when it comes to reporting quality measures. At the same time, an increasing number of ECs are using registries to report their quality data to CMS, many of which are now able to extract data from EHRs. By making this measure reportable via registry, CMS would better recognize the realities of clinical practice and create expanded opportunities for clinicians to take advantage of this important measure.
