Thank you for your question. CMS102v4 is the correct version for the 2016 reporting period. The Ischemic Stroke value set (2.16.840.1.113883.3.117.1.7.1.247) does include the I65 ICD-10 codes for occlusion and stenosis. These codes have been removed from the value sets associated with CMS102v5, the version for the 2017 reporting period, because cases with occlusion or stenosis do not necessarily also indicate infarction.

While these cases will be included in the measure denominator for the 2016 reporting year, the codes have been removed and the cases will not be included beginning in 2017.

We have chosen to submit Q3 2016 data for our 1st submission, Is version 4 for this reporting period the correct version? On concern is the ICD-10 code I65.21 and I65.23 is in the value set for version 4 however has been remove in more current versions value sets. should these be included in our stroke population since these are occlusion stenosis codes and would not require rehab.
