As recommended by the CRP, we will add logic to include women who respond yes to a question about sexual activity. This will be added to the other elements already in the measure.

NCQA would like additional feedback on using social history data for obtaining information on whether a patient is sexually active or not for use in the Chlamydia Screening Measure (CMS153).

Often a provider will ask about sexual activity when asking the patient social history questions. As a patient there may be different pressures to answer this question more or less accurately. A small group of vendors was surveyed and they agreed that by including only patients who answered yes to this question, some patients would be missed in the denominator. Therefore, we propose adding this as one of the denominator criteria and not the only criteria.
