However, the following codes were added during the 2016 Annual Updates cycle: 198464 198463 198473  RxNorm code 198461 Aspirin 120 mg Rectal Suppository was not added because it does not have the "prescribable" property. RxNorm code 198464 - aspirin 300 MG Rectal Suppository isn't included in the value set 2.16.840.1.113883.3.117.1.7.1.201 for Medication, Administered: Antithrombotic Therapy. We believe that aspirin suppositories are as effective antithrombotics as other forms of aspirin if given on a regular schedule, i.e. not on a PRN basis, and should be included.
