For the purposes of this measure, D10 is a medication and not a feeding, and is not considered parenteral nutrition.

The parenteral nutrition value set 2.16.840.1.113883.3.117.1.7.1.38 clearly refers to TPN. However, the value set also contains the ICD-10 code 3E336Z "Introduction of Nutritional Substance into Peripheral Vein, Percutaneous Approach" and SNOMED codes that don't necessarily mean TPN. Is it the intention of the measure to also include fluids like 10% dextrose or "D10", fluids that are commonly given to newborns, which are clearly nutritional (not many calories, but some) but are not TPN? My hope is the answer is yes, that would exclude patients from the measure who are being brought to medical attention for some reason.
