For CMS117 & CMS127: We will be adding CVX45, CVX89, CVX17, CVX45, CVX109, CVX85, and CVX88 to their respective vaccination value sets. However, CVX122 (Rotavirus, unspecified formulation) will still be excluded from our measure. The Childhood Immunization Measure requires either a 'dose 2 schedule' or 'dose 3 schedule' for Rotavirus vaccine. CVX122 therefore is just not specific enough to meet our inclusion criteria.

For CMS147: The ‘Influenza Vaccine’ value set used in CMS147 has contained CVX88 since the annual update published May 2015.

EP does not get credit for proper clinical management, following CDC guidance and meeting the intent of the measure.
Accurate reporting of CVX codes per CDC guidance is required by immunization registries, thus recording alternate 'active' codes is not an acceptable solution.

Per the CDC guidance inactive CVX codes should be used to record
-An administrable vaccine formulation that is no longer available for patient administration, but can be found in historical patient records OR
-A historical record of a vaccine administered where the exact formulation is unknown

Inactive codes are missing from value sets for CMS117, CMS127 and CMS147. This requires provider to record clinically inaccurate data (more specific than is known from the historic record) in order to meet these measures.
