      Thank you for your question.

Our medication value sets contain Rxnorm codes that are generic and prescribable. The code you are referring to (226718) is not a generic code and is hence excluded from the value set. However, there is a similar generic code 259081 (Aspirin 25 mg/dipyridamole 200 mg oral capsule). Our team will add RXCUI 259081 during the 2017 annual update cycle

The measure requires change to the value set.

We will make the following changes to the value set: Add RXCUI 259081 (Aspirin 25 mg/dipyridamole 200 mg oral capsule) to our anticoagulant medication value set.

We have a provider who suggests that RXCUI 226718 for ‘Aspirin 25mg/ dipyridamole 200mg oral tablet’ (ie. ‘Aggrenox’) be included in the 'Aspirin and Other Antiplatelets' value set (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.196.11.1211). Additional research has demonstrated that this medication should be included in this value set and IVD aspirin measure. Please let us know if there is a reason this medication is not included in this value set.
