A rehab facility may be an inpatient rehab facility, a rehab unit of an acute facility, or even a rehab bed in a LTC/SNF that has a number of beds designated for rehab patients and/or rehab overflow.
If the rehab location is a long term care or skilled nursing facility, the patient must be differentiated at as a rehabilitation patient- the discharge location of long term care or skilled nursing alone is not sufficient.
