For ED departure our EHR uses the earliest of ED event departed from ED or patient admitted. The date/time a patient becomes an inpatient can be before the patient physically departs from the ED. This is for billing purposes where the patient's inpatient admission can be started in the ED while the patient physically remains in the ED. Will the logic use the date/time of admission instead of the ED departure? Will this fail CDAC validation?

Patient admitted may be used as a proxy for an ED departure event. This patient admitted event can occur before actual ED departure therefore resulting in a short than actual time from ED arrival to ED departure.
