Regarding your concern about the change between Physical Exam, Finding and Physical Exam, Performed, it's important to note that the HQMF representations are nearly identical. According to the QDM-based HQMF Implementation Guide the only difference in the HQMF representations is the result attribute (which is no longer a difference now that result is added to the Physical Exam, Performance.

So, with CMS22v4 Physical Exam, Finding: Systolic Blood Pressure (result >= 120 mmHg) and Physical Exam, Performed: Systolic Blood Pressure (result >= 120 mmHg) would actually render exactly the same HQMF data criteria elements (the only difference being the template Id). In that regard, we don't really lose anything by removing Physical Exam, Result – if it doesn't work with Physical Exam, Performed, it wouldn't work with Physical Exam, Result either.

This question has been raised before. Please see QDM-26 for additional notes.

As per the 2015 change for MU measures, the result/finding in all the MU measures has been changed to Performed.

      For eg. In CMS22,

      • The Physical exam, finding is changed to Physical exam, Performed.

The measure looks for the historical data (Past one year) for blood pressure readings.
As the datatype is changed from 'finding' to 'Performed', we might get incorrect results as the last years data would be with the data type as 'Finding' and it may not match the current year's criteria.

It would be helpful if we know the reason why the datatype has been changed from Result/Finding to Performed.
