Meaningful Use relies on discreet data elements to prove compliance with a measure. It is impossible to identify discreet data elements for VTE confirmed, so our VTE numbers are not accurate. When abstracting measures, abstractors can use information contained it text, but you cannot do this when using eCQM. As CMS and TJC move towards eCQM submission, it is imperative that any values required for meeting a specific measure can be identified in discreet data.
