    • We are looking to reuse this value set.

The PCPI is interested in potentially using NCQA’s ‘Kidney Transplant’ value set (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.109.12.1012) in non-MU, eCQM work. We would appreciate clarification on the distinction between NCQA’s ‘Kidney Transplant’ value set and NCQA’s ‘Renal Transplant’ value set (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.109.12.1002). While the concepts in each value set are similar, what is the intended use and variation for each value set?

Upon review of the ‘Kidney Transplant’ value set, we had a question about a concept in the ‘Kidney Transplant’ value set which is detailed below.

      SNOMED-CT- (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.109.11.1024)
48994000: Renal homotransplantation with unilateral recipient nephrectomy (situation)- The reason we are requesting removal of this is because it is not part of the procedure hierarchy.

In the interest of harmonization, would NCQA be open to removing this concept from the ‘Kidney Transplant’ value set? Should NCQA wish for this concept to remain in the value set, if you could provide us with a rationale for the concept to remain in the value set, we would really appreciate it.
