This measure is looking for patients that have a visit with a systolic blood pressure >=140 and an active diagnosis of hypertension in the first 6 months of the measurement period. If the patient has multiple visits that meet this criteria, you would use the first visit of the measurement period.

    • We are trying to develop CMS65 for 2015 use.

“For CMS 65, does “◦AND: FIRST: “"Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Blood Pressure Visit" <= 6 month(s) starts after start of "Measurement Period”” mean that we need to consider the FIRST blood pressure visit of the patient on a date which is <= 6 months after measurement period start date.” Which means, even if the patient has multiple blood pressure visits during the specified time frame, only the first blood pressure visit will be considered for IPP calculation.
