      QUESTION: CMS 147v2:

      For the last numerator condition for CMS147v2 the specification indicates ’Communication: From Patient to Provider: Previous Receipt of Influenza Vaccine during Occurrence A encounter’. This would require all influenza to be documented during the qualifying Occurrence A visit between October 1 and March 31 from denominator as per specification.

      However, if the measure indicates ‘Previous Receipt of Influenza Vaccine’ would be acceptable, it would more accurate not reference the encounter in which the influenza was documented by the provider upon communication between patient and provider for this numerator condition. But instead we should reference the date in which the vaccine was administered to ensure it was given during the previous year’s influenza season between October 1 and March 31. However, due the nature of the CMS specification written to indicate the ’Communication: From Patient to Provider: Previous Receipt of Influenza Vaccine during Occurrence A encounter’ this is very confusing…
