Response from CMS117's measure developer:
Value set changes for 2015 are not finalized yet. We are considering adding the following CVX codes at the next annual update: 135, 153, 155, 161.
Response from CMS147's measure developer:
We appreciate the comment and concern. The difficulty with CVX value set noted, OID 2.16.840.1.113883.3.526.2.1348, is that at the time the steward (AMA-PCPI) is making the measure and value set updates, the terminology has not released an update to include the future flu season applicable vaccines (or the codes are not yet planned). For example, in early 2013, the AMA-convened PCPI was finalizing the HQMF eCQM and value sets for 2014 implementation and reporting; this timeline does not align with the code release. CVX 153 and 155 were released 7/17/2013 and CVX 158 was released 8/20/2013 – both published after the eCQM for 2014 reporting was posted in June 2013.
The other constraint is regulatory – the HQMF eCQM and corresponding value sets are only published once annually in accordance with legislative mandates, and must occur prior to July 1st; this timing does not allow for the incorporation of the most updated CVX codes.
We recommend that if there are codes that are clearly relevant, as the implementer noted, that they are mapped to codes contained in the value set.
