Thank you for your comments. We have received feedback over the past year similar to the comments provided here, and as a result have revised the eCQM for 2015 reporting. Please look for the updated eCQM specifications to be posted by CMS no later than July 1, 2014.
We have updated the specifications to no longer require that the influenza immunization be given (or that prior receipt be documented) during an encounter that takes place during the flu season that begins October 1 and ends March 31.
The new measure version is now available as of July 1, 2014-- please let us know if you have additional questions.

    •  We have thousands of patients falling out as a results who have in fact had an immunization.

Influenza Meaningful Use figures are abnormally low. Dug in and researched the patients failing and am finding numerious who have HAD and influenza immunization Oct 2013 - April 2014; however, they were given in one of these contexts: immunization only encounter (including our flu clinics and employee health and employee flu clilnics), inbound from state immunization registry, or historical entry. I reviewed the eCQM specifications and see the logic for the numerator is looking for it being given in the context of an office visit type encounter. We have thousands of patients falling out as a results who have in fact had an immunization.
