From this JIRA (https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/support/browse/CHM-257) I understand that CMS is proposed to relax the requirements around body weight data capture in 2027 to allow the first reported in the encounter as it is not clinically appropriate to keep taking weight repeatedly (ex. on patients that go to observation) since it is static.

In interim for 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 mandatory reporting, it seems that organizations would still be at risk of meeting the 90% threshold for vital signs and losing reimbursement if they do not take multiple weights after arrival for patients that go to observation for greater than 24 hour period.  It seems that organizations would need to add the step of taking repeat body weight measurements in interim to their clinical workflows to avoid this risk.  Can you confirm that's the recommendation?
