Sandboxes are isolated test environments that allow users to experiment with a system or service without impacting other systems or data. Initially developed by the CDS Hooks standards community in 2018 and 2019, the CDS Hooks Sandbox was designed to promote awareness of CDS capabilities and facilitate the testing of CDS Hooks services.
Today, the Sandbox is being modernized and enhanced by a CDC-sponsored and ASTP-CDC led project called Implementation of Electronic Clinical Decision Support Services. The project is being conducted by the Security Risk Solutions, Inc., team under contract HHS 75P00123F80152. The project is collaborating with the CDS Hooks standards community to ensure that the Sandbox remains a cutting-edge tool for CDS development. Key contributors include ASTP, CDC, Security Risk Solutions Inc., and Smile Digital Health.
