Discussion Notes

  • Update from Julie Maas on discussion with Payer/Provider Information Exchange WG
    • They are interested but not considering being a co-sponsor of the project at this time. They are requesting that we provide periodic updates to them on progress.
    • Additional feedback from the group was that we may want to consider identifying a (FHIR) Vocabulary Facilitator for the project.
  • Future Agenda Topics
    • With multiple Identity related efforts happening in the industry, this group will attempt to pull together the overall context for the initiatives we are aware of and how they fit together. Slated as agenda item for next working session on Jun 11th 2021. TODO for Meena Jambulingam

      • capturing consent (by the patient) as a way of authorizing access to the patient's own data using a credential issued by a different IdP e.g. Fairview Hospital records patient's consent to using their Mayo Clinic credentials to access their records at Fairview Hospital without needing credentials issued by Fairview Hospital natively; similar workflow: granting consent (by the patient) for the sharing of information associated with a different digital identifier associated with them e.g. patient using a Mayo Clinic set of credentials grants access to their records associated with their Fairview Hospital identity

    • Security Labels: VCI using security labels for id assurance levels for vaccine encounters. Who else may be? Are there other applications of security labels that may be relevant to this team?
    • Signatures: Relevant to when a patient signs care plan (an original FAST use case that's in scope for this team but hasn't been addressed yet). Are there other applications of signatures that may be relevant to this team?
