• If a patient had an inpatient hospitalization during the below time-frames would you expect to receive 2 or 3 files for this patient?  I was under the impression that if CMS is only expecting 1 file/quarter. 
• 12/21/23-12/22/23
• 1/2/24-1/9/24
• 1/14/24-3/7/24

If my understanding is correct CMS would only receive a file for the first encounter but the second and third encounters would be on the same file as they fall into the same quarter

Is this correct as this is how we are sending the data
