eMeasure specification standards do not provide a method of representingthe variable that must be reported for risk adjustment.

This impacts two MU-3 measures:
MUCD-22: Functional Status Assessment and Improvement for Patients who Received a Total Hip Replacement
MUCD-23: Functional Status Assessment and Improvement for Patients who Received a Total Knee Replacement

We are investigating how the risk adjustment field in the eMeasure header is applied and whether the eMeasure can represent the variables that must be reported for risk adjustment. We would like clear guidance and standards to be developed which measure developers can use to build risk adjustment in a structured and standardized way for eMeasures.
