This question regards the expression of critical value reporting in CQL. I am working on a project to create pathologist-centric eCQMs. Two of the measures regard actions related to laboratory critical value reporting.  The bottom line is we would like to express the critical value concept in CQL, if possible.

 Laboratory critical value ranges can vary across sites depending on a number of factors, so LIS and EHRs rely on the critical value flag.  We are not seeing a way to capture the critical value reporting flag in current QDM. By "flag" I mean the observation codes in the HL7 OBX-8 lab results transaction that include, e.g., AA Critical abnormal, HH Critical high and LL Critical low.

 We are aware of the QDM-to-QI Core mapping from QDM Result to the QI-CORE Observation.Interpretation code that uses the HL7 observation interpretation codes. Am I missing anything obvious about how to express result that in QDM?
