      Communication, Performed currently models the communication (code) as the subject/information being communicated. It also uses the category attribute to reference the kind of communication (if desired) - e.g., notification, alert, reminder, etc..   Developing templates in HL7 C-CDA and reviewing FHIR modeling suggests that the communication (code) should reference the type of communication (notification, alert, reminder, etc.) and the reason (reasonCode) reference the subject of the communication.  The end result is that templates created for QDM reverse the modeling rather than align with it.  This recommendation is to modify QDM Communication, Performed such that the code reference the type of communication (as with C-CDA and FHIR) and a reason attribute address the subject of the communication.
