    • Seeking input on how QDM and CQL can facilitate representation of these scenarios.

PCPI reached out to the QDM contractor to determine the ability of QDM and CQL to express constructs that are frequently needed in laboratory and diagnostic studies. We have struggled to represent tests (both labs and diagnostics) that can yield multiple findings with respective results.

The measures would be counting an episode – “Percentage of Laboratory Tests …” and “Percentage of Diagnostic Study reports …”. The attributes would all need to be linked to the same instance, and the field and result would both need to be attributes of the lab/diagnostic study.

Two examples we have encountered over the past 3 years or so are outlined in the emails attached:
      Lipid Panel > LDL > 130mg/dL
      US/MRI/CT > stenosis > peripheral arteries > greater than 50%

These examples are solely for the purposes of discussion and are not supported by existing measures. Please review the attached emails titled, “RE CQL - Expression of Concepts APR2016” and “RE Assistance with stenosis data element eMeasure NOV2013” for additional details and discussion surrounding this ticket.

We hope that the QDM and CQL teams can evaluate how the eCQM supporting models and standards can express these constructs in the future.
