Need the ability to support reference ranges for laboratory tests in eCQMs

    • Currently there is no way to indicate with "lab test performed" data type that the provider should also send the reference range associated with that lab value.

      To support reference range in measures, we would need to add a QDM attribute, map it to HQMF, and map it to the QRDA Observation.referenceRange.

      User Group Accepted Solution (May 2015)

      Add the following new attributes to Laboratory Test, Performed:

      • reference range low: the low bound (inclusive) of values that are considered "normal"
      • reference range high: the high bound (inclusive) of values that are considered "normal"

      This solution will also likely require changes to HQMF and/or the QDM-based HQMF IG.
