      Inclusion into the numerator requires several calculations that are not supported by our current EMR. Calculating the time difference between when the antihyperglycemic medication was given and when the lab test was taken would require considerable resources to develop and validate. This calculation is compounded by the requirement to then exclude patients with a subsequent lab test within 5 minutes that over rides the previous low result.
      Of concern is the requirement that the glucose test is a ‘lab’ result. The majority of glucose testing at our organization is done by point of care testing, and not lab. If this is not considered, the population would be significantly skewed.
