    • Comment - PSA Screening

Although flawed, PSA screening has utility in the right man for the early detection of prostate cancer. The test is also useful to monitor response to prostate cancer therapy, as well as benign prostate disorders. This is an inexpensive and potentially useful and life saving test, and CMS should continue to pay for its use.

If CMS is willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to manage end stage metastatic prostate cancer, with the newest agents, it should be willing to shell out a few dollars to pay for prostate cancer screening in appropriate men.
