      I believe that the data accumulated since the start of widespread PSA testing in the late 1980's shows that the PSA test saves lives. While it is true that over-treatment has been a serious issue, it is the established paradigm of: Rise in PSA leads to biopsy leads to treatment regardless of the risk level of cancer found that is the problem, not the PSA test itself. I strongly urge continuation of informed PSA testing with emphasis on Active Surveillance for those men found to have low risk disease.
