I am looking for information on how the sex data element executes in test cases.
In looking at a recent test case export in Excel format – example attached CMS986-v4.0.005-QDM-TestCases.xlsx –
- Column Q titled ‘sex’ equates to the Sex demographic drop down field
- How is this selection used in the measure execution/calculation?
- Column AM equates to the SDE Sex element
- Where is the data that populates this column being pulled from?
- Can you confirm this is the data that is used to ‘execute’ the test case? Meaning, contributes to coverage?
- There is variability in how the data is presented in this column – why is this?
- [Patient Characteristic Sex: ONCAdministrativeSexCODE: AdministrativeGender M]
- [Patient Characteristic Sex: ONCAdministrativeSexCODE: AdministrativeGender F]
- [PatientCharacteristicSexCODE: AdministrativeGender M]
- [PatientCharacteristicSexCODE: AdministrativeGender F]
I do not have an example measure as I do not own any measures - but this is based on questions I have been responding to in light of the SDE Sex value set update.
