This issue affects measures that have more than one population criteria (i.e., CMS986, CMS1028): In MADiE, there are Initial Population, Measure Population, and Measure Population Exclusions fields for each of the measure’s population criteria. We learned that in MADiE, these fields then get combined in the measure output. For example, the content from each Initial Population field in the six population criteria is combined into one singular Initial Population field in the output (see screenshot example #1 from CMS986). And the same goes for the Measure Population field.
Since the Initial Population and Measure Population descriptions are the same for all six of the CMS986’s population criteria, we suggested a workaround to avoid duplication in the measure output, as seen in screenshot #1: Only providing detail in the Initial Population and Measure Population description fields for Population Criteria 1 and leaving these free text fields blank for the other five population criteria. The measure developer implemented this change, which removed the duplication in the Initial Population and Measure Population fields. However, the Initial Population and Measure Population fields then had formatting/spacing issues. There is now quite a bit of blank space in these two fields, as if there is missing information in the fields (see screenshot example #2 from CMS986). Is there a fix for this formatting/space issue, for when the measure developer only needs to input the same Initial Population and Measure Population description once for multiple population criteria? Thank you!
