CMS69v9/v10 – Misalignment between header and CQL logic. Numerator logic for high/low BMI requires a follow-up plan on or within 12 months after latest BMI, which may cause patients to fail if new BMI is documented without a corresponding follow-up plan.

Follow current logic as specified per measure version.

Revise logic in future version of the specification to ensure that timing anchors align with measure intent/clinical guidance and reduce implementer burden.

eCQMs Impacted – CMS69v9/CMS69v10 - Preventive Care and Screening: Body Mass Index (BMI) Screening and Follow-Up Plan
Issue – There is a discrepancy in the measure narrative and CQL logic. The measure logic no longer includes a look-back period for the BMI follow- up plan, but rather a look-forward period from the most recent BMI. This logic change is not clearly reflected in the narrative of the measure header.

Additionally, changes to the timing anchors of the BMI follow-up plan may cause patients who had previously met the numerator criteria to fail if a new BMI is documented without a corresponding follow-up plan.
