For CMS 56 and CMS 66, the IPP logics are similar with the exception of one measure looking for a THA and the other using the TKA. While testing these measures, we have found cases where a patient could have an encounter, the TKA/THA and the follow up encounter all before the start fo the respective measurement period. This seems unusual as majority of the other CQMs look for an encounter during the measurement period and am wondering if this is the intent of the measure or if it is intentional to include patients that never had an encounter during the measurement period.
