      Hi Team,

We are observing a mismatch in the Measure Observation 1 calculation for Measure 1017v3.

As per the measure guidance, hospital days are measured in 24-hour periods starting from the time of arrival at the hospital, including time spent in the Emergency Department and/or Observation.

Based on this, we considered the following period:

      • ED Arrival: July 17, 2025, 8:00 AM
      • Inpatient Departure: July 21, 2025, 8:15 AM
      • Our calculated count: 4
      • Cypress expected count: 3

Based on our understanding of the 24-hour period calculation, we are arriving at an observation value of 4, whereas Cypress is expecting 3.

We have attached the relevant details for reference. Could you please review and clarify the expected calculation logic and advise why Cypress is considering the observation value as 3?

We would appreciate your guidance in resolving this issue.

      Thanks & Regards,
      Divya Mali
