The latest version (2022-02) of value set "Antithrombotic Therapy" 2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1110.62 includes aspirin 325 mg oral capsule - RxNorm 198466 but the prior version (2021-02) does not. RxNorm 198466 has become prescribable in the latest version of RxNorm. Vazalore 325 mg oral capsule – 2563428 is an SBD (Semantic Branded Drug) code and is not included because it is not generic. The medication value sets developed for the program contain RxNorm codes that are Semantic Clinical Drugs (SCD), generic, and prescribable. Your local medication codes need to be mapped to the SCD RxNorm codes found in the value set in order to satisfy the electronic clinical quality measure.

You can find more information about this in the eCQM Logic and Implementation Guidance located here: https://ecqi.healthit.gov/sites/default/files/eCQM-Logic-and-Guidance-v5.pdf in the section titled "Drug Representations Used in Value Sets".

We have aspirin 325 mg  oral capsule or Vazalore 325 mg oral capsule, available to be selected as a prescription at discharge. The RXNorm codes that have been associated to these meds are:

      aspirin 325 mg oral capsule - 198466

      Vazalore 325 mg oral capsule - 2563428

These are not available in  the value set 2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1110.62, we have had patients only included in the denominator because they were prescribed this medication at discharge.

Is there a way to add these codes to the value set?

      Thank  you,
