      Brief description of measure:
Percentage of patients 65 years of age and older who were screened for future fall risk during the measurement period.

      Description of issue:
The current measure has an exclusion for patients that were non-ambulatory during the measurement period. The intent is to exclude people that are permanently non-ambulatory, but the measure specification currently is structured in such a manner where the QDM and EHR data capture require components of a fall risk assessment to meet this exclusion.

      Goal of review:
Potential draft change. Request feedback and comments regarding feasibility, use of data capture, logic structure, and/or workflow impact.

Proposed solution & rationale for change:
      Proposed solution:
Remove the patient "non-ambulatory" denominator exclusion from the measure.

      Rationale:
The current logic identifies the denominator exclusion by using components of a fall risk assessment, which does not adequately identify patients that are permanently "non- ambulatory.” Additionally, we have received feedback that there is a lack of available documentation for a non-ambulatory status.
