Thank you for your question. ICU < 1 day considers the difference in days between start of Value and end of Value, not whether ICU < 24 hours. Please see the function "LengthInDays" below. Therefore, the example you provide will be considered as 1 day because 12/22 - 12/23 is considered 1 day.

Encounter With First ICU Location Stay less than 1 day
      "Encounter With ICU Location" QualifyingEncounterICU
where "Length In Days"("First ICU Location Period"(QualifyingEncounterICU))< 1
      Global.LengthInDays(Value Interval<DateTime>)
difference in days between start of Value and end of Value

      Hello,
For VTE-2, 2018/19 how is ICU LOS <1 day defined? Is it in hours (<24hours), or is it considered by date? For instance, if a patient is transferred to an ICU on 12.22.18 at 22:00 and is then transferred out on 12.23.18 at 03:00 is this considered <1 day stay as it is <24 hrs. Or alternatively is it considered 2 days because it ranged over 2 dates? Thank you.
