We are attempting to revise the AMI 8a logic so that if the patient admission source (assuming it qualifies) is noted in the ED encounter the patient would be excluded from the measure. We actually thought this was already included since the denominator uses the Global Hospitalization and HospitalArrivalTime expressions. But the test cases do not reflect this so we added ED encounter to the IP logic.

The test cases continue to fail if the admission source is indicated in the ED encounter only. Please advise. Thank you, Angela
