If the first result of the lab has a non-numeric symbol, the result will not be evaluated and will be considered "missing". This result is a critical value in the intent of this measure and the inability to evaluate it will lead to inaccurate results in the hybrid rates.

We have multiple hospitals with patients whose first glucose results are >500 (for example)

These results are not evaluated because of the presence of a non-numeric character.

We do not have a way to send this data in the QRDA file in a way that allows for evaluation. Therefore, the first instance for Glucose, which is the most critical in consideration of the measure intent, will be missing.

If you have any suggestions re how we can get this data evaluated, without altering the clinical documentation (which we can't do), please let me know. Otherwise, we need a solution so that these results can be considered in the risk adjustment.
