DAF Phase 3 pilots activities are taking place during weekly technical workgroups (TWG) meetings. Meeting details can be found on the homepage and all meeting artifacts can be accessed on the Past Meetings page.
Background
DAF Phase 3-data access for research aims to help providers and researchers query for patients’ data at both the individual and aggregate levels from multiple healthcare enterprises in the context of Learning Health System (LHS). The capabilities created as part of DAF Phase 3 are intended to be leveraged to build our nation's data infrastructure for a LHS and will also leverage work that has been completed in DAF Phase 1 and Phase 2 as appropriate. To learn more about the capabilities of DAF Phase 3 and the activities completed in Phase 1 and 2, please visit our Phase 3 charter.
DAF Phase 3 Pilot Sites
The DAF Phase 3 pilots sites are part of the PCORnet community, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network, an innovative initiative of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). The goals of PCORnet are to "transform clinical research by engaging patients, care providers, and health systems in collaborative partnerships to improve healthcare and advance medical knowledge."
Lincoln Peak Partners (LPP) developed the PopMedNet software for the PCORnet community and many others that include: FDA Sentinel post-market surveillance network, NIH Collaboratory basic research network, MDPHnet public health network for State of Massachusetts and many Clinical Data Research Networks (CDRNs).
pSCANNER and REACHnet are both part of the PCORnet Clinical Data Research Networks (CDRN). These CDRNs are "comprised of many different types of health systems who are partnering to conduct research as a network. Each individual CDRN will build capacity for conducting both randomized trials and observational comparative effectiveness studies using data from their practices and patient populations. These networks involve two or more healthcare systems, and include integrated delivery systems, academic medical centers, and safety net clinics."
*C5 and C6 are deferred until C1-C4 pilot activities have been sufficiently completed
