 Description

For EH measure CMS32V5,CMS9V4,CMS71V5, there is a discrepancy in Cypress patient data and QRDA I XML file. It's present on Cypress but not getting in the XML file.(e.g., discharge status: Patient Expired) Because of that, we are unable to validate QRDA I XML file on Cypress.
Please find attached Screenshots and XML files.

CMS32V5 Definition:
Measure Population Exclusions =
OR: "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Emergency Department Visit (discharge status: Patient Expired)"

Cypress Error :
Calculated value (0.0) for DENEX (E6523BDD-D4FA-4849-9217-F7A3668B1746) does not match expected value (1.0)

Priyanka-

For CMS32, the patient (Mae Mann) does not require the discharge disposition. Additionally, the error message above is not for a CMS32 test.

The error message above "Calculated value (0.0) for DENEX (E6523BDD-D4FA-4849-9217-F7A3668B1746) does not match expected value (1.0)" is being reported on CMS9v4.

"Encounter, Performed: Encounter Inpatient" satisfies any

  • (facility location: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)) *
  • (discharge status: Patient Expired) *
  • (discharge status: Discharge To Acute Care Facility) *

I just took a look at the files you attached for CMS9v4 (4_AF4D0AA4-0A33-48F3-8611-D225B53DECE6_Nicholas_Valdez.xml) and it did include the discharge disposition.

Thanks-

I was able to take a closer look at what is going on here.

Patients in Cypress are created to test multiple measures. As a result, they may include information that isn't necessary for a specific measure (e.g. CMS32). When Cypress exports a QRDA Category I file, it strips out all of the information that isn't relevant for the measure being reported. In the case of Mae Mann, Cypress exported the Inpatient Encounter (32485007) from May 11th through May 13th. However, since "Discharge Disposition for and Encounter, Performed: Encounter Inpatient" isn't used in the calculation of CMS32, this piece of information is omitted for the QRDA file.

For CMS32, the Discharge Disposition is only relevant for "Encounter, Performed: Emergency Department Visit."

I can see how this is confusing since the information is not omitted from the view within the Cypress application.

Priyanka-

The screen shots you've attached are for a file "31_Mae_Mann."

I just unzipped the zip files you attached an cannot find that file. Can you just upload that one XML file?

Priyanka-

I'm having trouble recreating this issue. Can you outline the steps you are taking when creating and executing tests? (feel free to only include the steps for a single measure, if that is easier).

Here are the steps that i have followed

1) Add Product
2) Select C1 and C2 Certification Types
3) Select CMS9v4, CMS32v5, CMS71v5
4) Open the new product
5) Select the CMS32v5 C1 test
6) Download QRDA Cat I files
7) Found the Patient with Discharge Disposition "Patient Expired" - Geraldine Boyd
8) Found the discharge disposition in the exported QRDA Cat I file.
9) Uploaded files here

Hi,
I have installed fresh Cypress version 3.0.1.But Issue is still there, not fixed in 3.0.1 version.
i.e., It is displaying the attribute in the UI, but not in the QRDA I patient that Cypress generates.
Please check this issue on priority because of it,I am unable to validate QRDA I Export file,it thows error.

Priyanka,

Have you tried again in Cypress 3.0.1?

Not yet checked on Cypress 3.0.1.but getting this issue in Cypress 3.0.0 .I'll check on 3.0.1 and notify.

Comment by Samuel Sayer [ 09/16/16 ]

Is this still occurring in Cypress 3.0.1? Do you mean it is displaying the attribute in the UI, but not in the QRDA I patient that Cypress generates?
