 Description

It appears as though the denominator that CMS is expecting is the number of qualifying visits of patients with an active diagnosis of depression, and to qualify, you have to have at least two visits.
Cypress is expecting a Denominator count of 4 with 3 patients.
We are producing a Denominator count of 6 across 3 patients because of the minimum of 2 visits per patient.
Can you explain the logic of getting a count of 4 instead of 6 for this measure?

Brandon-

I'm attaching a zip file of patients generated in Cypress 2.6.1 for CMS177v3. This zip file contains 6 patient files.

Like you stated, each patient does have 2 encounters each. However, only 2 of the patients (Gordon Stevenson and Edgar Adkins) have an open-ended diagnosis that overlaps both encounters. As a result, the other 4 patient only get counted once for encounters that overlap the diagnosis. Gordon and Edgar are also the only 2 patients with encounters (1 encounter each) that meet the numerator criteria.

As a result, there is a count of 8 for the IPP (and Denominator) and 2 for the Numerator.

Hope this help.
