Solution: | Thank you for your question regarding CMS104v11, STK-2: Discharged on Antithrombotic Therapy. CMS104v11 is an inpatient measure, and an inpatient encounter must end during the measurement period in order to be included in any of the stroke measures. Many places in STK-2 extend the inpatient encounter to the entire hospitalization (including observation and ED) using Global.”HospitalizationWithObservation”. Global.”HospitalizationWithObservation” which groups ED, observation and inpatient encounters into a hospitalization. If the patient is not admitted to inpatient status they are not included in the measure. |
