Solution: | Thank you for your inquiry on CMS871v2 (Hospital Harm- Sever Hyperglycemia). In order to assess the Diabetes value set ("2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.103.12.1001"), specific to the 2023 performance period, please select expansion version "eCQM Update 2022-05-05", which coincides with the date that the 2023 eCQMs were published. As for the ICD-9 codes included, these were left in as legacy codes. The value set steward is reviewing removing these during the current Annual Update. Thank you |

Description |
Hello Team,
We see that the Code Systems mentioned for the expansion versions "eCQM Update 2022-05-05" and "Latest" is different for the specific valueset of "2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.103.12.1001". Please find screenshots below where for eCQM Update 2022-05-05, the code system of ICD9CM is also mentioned.
Can you confirm if for the 2023 Reporting Period should we use the "Latest" expansion version, since ICD9 codes were replaced by ICD10 codes from 2015?
Thanks, Auryl |
