Solution: | Thank you for your question. CMS171 relates to the paper chart based measure SCIP-INF-1, which does not use the tables identified in the question for hip/knee surgeries. We provide a response for CMS172 related to SCIP-INF-2, which does reference these tables. For population 4 and referring to the medication tables found in Appendix C on QualityNet, the patient must either have cefazolin or cefuroxime (Table 3.2) or Vancomycin (Table 3.8) OR if they're allergic to Beta lactams, then they must have Vancomycin (Table 3.8) or Clindamycin (Table 3.9) Table 3.10 is not used in this measure. |

Impact: | Not populating numerator for SCIP-1 (population 4) |

Description |
Medications were administered that are listed in Table 3.2 but did not populate the numerator for SCIP - 1 (population 4). Should the measure only include Tables 3.8 and 3.10? |

Could I clarify whether you are talking about CMS172/NQF0528 which is SCIP 2? Because Table 3.2, 3.8 and 3.9 are used in SCIP 2, whereas in SCIP 1 all the numerators use the same medication tables. |
