Thank you for your inquiry regarding denominator coding requirements for MIPS eCQMs.

To qualify for the denominator for CMS0002v16 (Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan), a patient must have at least one encounter from the following value sets:

      • Encounter to Screen for Depression (OID: 2.16.840.1.113883.3.600.1916)
      • Physical Therapy Evaluation (OID: 2.16.840.1.113883.3.526.3.1022)
      • Telephone Visits (OID: 2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.101.12.1080)

If you are inquiring about the measure CMS0159v15 (Depression Remission at Twelve Months), a patient must have an encounter from the following value set:
      • Contact or Office Visit (OID: 2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1080.5)

You may view all measure-specific value sets and their respective codes in the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC :(https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/). Value sets can be searched by the names or OID, as listed above.

The VSAC is a central repository for the official versions of value sets included in eCQMs. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) maintains the VSAC, provides downloadable access to the value sets, and updates versions of the terminology code systems used in CMS quality programs at least once each year. Access to eCQM value sets in VSAC requires a free Unified Medical Language System® (UMLS) license (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/vsac/support/usingvsac/requestumlslicense.html). NLM will review your license request within three business days. Once your request is approved, NLM will send you an email with more information, and you will be able to sign in to services that require a UMLS Metathesaurus License.

I need clarification for the specific office visit types -  billing codes that fall under the Depression Remission and Follow up Measure for Mississippi for a Federal Health Clinic. I recently learned that all Medicare Wellness visit codes do not close out this care gap. Please advise.
