We plan to move forward with the proposed change during this annual update.
Brief Description of Measure:
CMS105/STK-6: Discharged on Statin Medication:
Ischemic stroke patients who are prescribed or continuing to take statin medication at hospital discharge
Description of Issue:
The Statin Allergen value set (OID: 2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1110.41) currently aligns with the current CMS Measure Management System Blueprint standard and utilizes the SNOMED-CT substance code to identify a statin allergy.
In preparation for future eCQM standard updates and harmonization efforts, The Joint Commission plans to add the SNOMED-CT product code 96302009 (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor-containing product) to the existing value set as an alternate way to capture an allergy to a statin medication/product.
Proposed Solution:
Update TJC value set Statin Allergen (OID: 2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1110.41) to include “product” code 96302009 (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor-containing product).
Rationale for Change:
Adding the product code will support future transition to changing standards.
