Thank you for your question about the Cervical Cytology criteria for CMS124v9, Cervical Cancer Screening . This measure identifies cervical cytology via QDM datatype "Laboratory Test, Performed" along with the value set "Pap Test", and identifies a non-null test result using QDM attribute "Result". If the faxed cervical cytology report is documented in the EHR using any of the codes found in the value set "Pap Test" and has a non-null result (positive or negative), the record can be used to evaluate against the numerator criteria.

Can this be routed to the ONC JIRA Mathematica EC team?

      CMS124v9:
The numerator is expressed as: "Cervical Cytology Within 3 Years" ["Laboratory Test, Performed". "Pap Test"] CervicalCytology
where CervicalCytology.relevantDatetime 3 years or less on or before end of "Measurement Period" and Cervicalcytology.result is not null

Outpatient clinicals would rarely have an electronic interface between the doctor office and lab in which the cervical cancer screening was performed. The workaround is to have the faxed cytology report from the lab scanned into the EHR at the clinic. Would a scanned document of the cytology report the data point of "Cervical Cytology" or "Pap Test" qualify for the measure? Does the result value need to be positive/negative? If so, please clarify.
