      Brief Description of Measure:

      CMS117: Childhood Immunization Status:
Percentage of children 2 years of age who had four diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis (DTaP); three polio (IPV), one measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); three or four H influenza type B (Hib); three hepatitis B (Hep B); one chicken pox (VZV); four pneumococcal conjugate (PCV); one hepatitis A (Hep A); two or three rotavirus (RV); and two influenza (flu) vaccines by their second birthday

      Description of Issue:

Our measure team reviewed the value set "Influenza Vaccine" grouping OID (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.196.12.1218) that contains one member value set "Influenza Vaccine" Member OID (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.196.11.1220). We have decided that the CVX code 135 should be removed. The CVX code 135 maps to CPT 90662 which is an adult vaccine. These codes do not meet the intent of the measure.

      Proposed Solution:

We will remove CVX code 135 from the "Influenza Vaccine" OID (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.196.11.1220) value set, which is a member to the "Influenza Vaccine" grouping OID (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.196.12.1218) value set.

      Rationale for Change:

We will remove CVX code 135 because it does not meet the intent of the value set or measure. CVX code 135 maps to CPT 90662 which is an adult vaccine; therefore, neither of these codes should be included in the childhood immunization measure.
